PROJECT

Noblegen Inc. is an advanced bio products manufacturer dedicated to developing cost-effective, naturally derived biomaterials and biochemical for a wide range of consumer and industry sectors.

Noblegen Inc. recognized they had invented a system, Euglena Bio Filtration System, which would remove pollutants and heavy metals from municipal and other aquatic wastewater. The system tricks algae into absorbing minerals, heavy metals, excess nutrients, phosphorus and other pollutants. The Euglena BioFilter creates an algae bloom and harnesses the capabilities of the algae to create a cleaner, controlled way of removing nutrients or contaminants and avoids the release back into the environment. The BioFilter has the capability to separate the algae by-products, residual organic matter containing nutrients and the heavy metals. The by-products can then be sold.

PROJECT SUMMARY

The company has expanded into their pilot facility located in Peterborough, until their new $20 million, 50,000 square foot facility at Trent Research and Innovation Park is completed in 2018.

Noblegen Inc. announced October 2016, they have received $7.5 million in private equity funding for this facility.
