Smile Mobility

When Ralph Karl and the team behind Smile Mobility set out to bring reliable, accessible medical and recreational transportation to Hastings County, they had a vision of improving the quality of life for rural residents by increasing freedom, independence, and access to essential services. Turning that vision into reality requires careful planning, the right resources, and trusted local support.

Community Futures of North & Central Hastings and South Algonquin was proud to support Smile Mobility throughout its startup journey by providing guidance, financing, and ongoing encouragement as the business prepared to launch its specialized accessible transportation service.

Huge shout-out to Community Futures Development Corporation!

As we officially launch Smile Mobility, we want to look back at the incredible support that got us here. Bringing reliable, accessible medical and recreational transit to Hastings County was a massive vision, and we quite literally couldn't have done it without the team at Community Futures.

A very special, heartfelt thank you goes out to Carolyn Barker Brown. From the early planning stages to navigating the logistics of getting our specialized, high-roof vehicle ready for the road, Carolyn has been our champion every step of the way. Her dedication, guidance, and belief in our mission to improve the quality of life for rural residents have been invaluable.

Partnerships like this are what make our community so strong. Thank you, Community Futures, and thank you, Carolyn, for helping us get ready to bring more freedom, independence, and smiles to Hastings County!"
