The Haliburton County Development Corporation is moving from their locations on Highland Street along with the Business Incubator on Mountain Streets to one new location at 5152 County Rd 21 beside Haliburton Lumber. This new location will be home to “The Link”, the go to place for new and existing entrepreneurs to find the resources they need to start, sustain, relocate, and grow.

This space is designed to directly support business owners and entrepreneurial leaders across Haliburton County. As of Summer 2023, the following Link Services will become accessible all under one roof:

  • Business owners, new entrepreneurs and anyone thinking of starting a business can meet with the staff at HCDC and receive free business counselling to start, sustain, and grow their businesses and to discuss options to apply for a business loan

  • Not for profit organizations can access a variety of supports with grant writing, exploring funding options, how to start a not-for-profit organization and strategic planning

  • Independent entrepreneurs and remote workers can utilize the new co-working space to access high-speed internet by renting hot desks or private offices

  • A large meeting room will provide conference technology that will be available for the public to rent for meetings and events

  • All entrepreneurs will be invited to workshops and networking events designed to help business owners thrive, these events will be hosted in partnership with our partners that will be located inside of The Link

"HCDC is committed to serving business owners and the Haliburton County community. The concept of the Link, where business supports can come together under one roof, is a natural next step for HCDC. We look forward to continuing to provide leadership for community economic development in the County.”

- Pat Kennedy, Chair of the HCDC Board -

The Link offers a collaborative co-working space that brings a variety of community partners all under one roof. Our partners include the Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce, the Arts Council, The County of Haliburton’s Economic Development Department & Tourism Staff along with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). By co-locating it will provide easier access to added resources and unique services and further collaborate on business expansion and economic development initiatives across Haliburton County.

“The County of Haliburton fully supports this expansion of entrepreneurial services provided by HCDC. The collaboration of all our community partners in economic development will be a tremendous benefit and resource to our regional economy. It is wonderful to see the creation of this partnership to help businesses within Haliburton County succeed both today and in the future.”

- Liz Danielsen, Warden, County of Haliburton -

“The Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to the new opportunities for collaboration that will be made possible by co-locating at The Link. We are excited to be a part of such a unique project. We support HCDC as they lead the charge to bring all of The Link partners and business community together to optimize access to resources supporting economic development and business relationships in our County.”

- Amanda Conn, Executive Director, Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce -

To design the space, HCDC is working with ACM Designs to create a new unique space that will be welcoming for the community. The public will be invited to the grand public opening of The Link later this year.

“My business owes its existence to the invaluable support we received from HCDC over the years. When the opportunity arose to collaborate with them and lend our expertise in space planning and decor, we were thrilled. The project also allowed us to be super creative! ACM Designs is deeply invested in Haliburton's business community, and witnessing Patti and her team's unwavering commitment to creating a space that truly benefits the community was truly inspiring. We are grateful for the chance to contribute and excited to continue making a positive impact together."

- Andria Cowan Molyneaux, Founder and Principal of ACM Designs -
